1 lb. bulk Italian sausage 1 lb. ground beef 1 (28-oz.) can whole tomatoes, undrained, cut up 1 (15-oz.) can tomato sauce _ cup chopped onion 1 teaspoon sugar 1 to 2 teaspoons chili powder 1 to 1 _ teaspoons cumin 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves 1 (15-oz.) can chili beans, undrained 1 can garbanzo beans drained, rinsed
In large skillet, brown sausage and ground meat; drain. In slow cooker, combine browned meat and remaining ingredients except beans. Cook on high setting for 1 hour. Reduce to low; cook 2 to 3 hours to allow flavors to blend. Add chili beans and garbanzo beans; cook on low setting for 30 – 45 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Garnish as desired.
Servings: 6 (1 _ cup)
Tip: If desired; mixture can cook for 6 to 7 hours.
